The Future of Documentary

With all the talk of the impact of the digital on screen media and production, no sector feels it more acutely than documentary and documentary filmmakers. The challenges and the opportunities in equal measure are immense.

Ozdox and the Australian Film TV and Radio School are hosting a public event to explore some perspectives on the Future of Documentary and to launch the latest issue of LUM:NA - the Australian journal of screen arts and business - which is dedicated to Documentary.

I’ll be on a panel of eminently more qualified folks including vetran and multi award winning filmmakers Rachel Landers and Anna Broinowski discussing some future trajectories with a decidedly optimistic air. The future is bright but its gonna be a hell of a learning curve.

Mike, great idea for a conference. I hope the video/audio will be available online, either live, or afterward, so those of us in distant lands can avail ourselves of the discussion.
