Product Placement

To many Product Placement seems like the great invasion - a moral transgression onto the Holy Ground of cinema. To others, product Placement (and it’s lovechild Branded Entertainment) are a useful way to get projects funded outside of the usual channels. Oliver Stone opening used product placement funds to get Wall Street 2 up, and from an alternate perspective David Lynch has subtly made his feelings on the subject known….

But whilst it may seem a fairly recent phenomenon this great mini-doco below explores the rather long history of product placement. Love or hate it I suspect it’s not going anywhere, nor is it particular to feature film as more and more TV series, web series and video games adopt the featured product approach.
